Code ACI , Model Code 90 and Eurocode EC-2 present important differences with regard to the shear strength and punching strength, this is especially shown when the steel ratio of reinforcement is low. The above mentioned is important especially in the case of footings. The author analyses the differences either in structural design or in cost for wall footings and isolated footings, in accordance with the three mentioned Codes.
