There was too much angsty back and forth between Caleb and Andrew. I didn't like the huge leaps in time, and both MCs were so clueless, I wanted to shake them. I usually love the best-friends-to-lovers-trope, but it took WAY too long for these guys to have a come-to-Jesus-moment. Plus, even in book 4, Andrew's "bedside" manner made me cringe.

He may have been This review is for the second edition of this book, which includes a bonus chapter originally published in: This book frustrated me. He may have been a genius, but he wasn't professional.

And Caleb. OMG, stop with the snark, already, you defensive diva, you. Even the bonus chapter left me cold, the only one in the series to do so. I thought Andrew had put his relationship fears to rest, but apparently not. There were some sweet and sexy moments in this book, of course.

If you want hot and heavy action, look no further. This just wasn't my favorite book in the series. View all 6 comments. Take two guys who have been best friends since early teens, then become sexually involved with each other in a casual way when both come out a few years later. Follow their story over a period of 20 years - covering family upsets, bad boyfriend choices and lifes general ups and downs, add to the mix some pretty hot love scenes a touch of humour and two endearing protags and overall you get a really enjoyable romance.

To be honest the improbability factor is pretty high and by that I mean these guys are so obviously mad for each other from the word go that to hold out 20 years before the inevitable HEA is a bit eye rolling.

As kids they find each other attractive, as late teens they want to experiment together frequently and as adults they cant keep their hands of each other so what was really keeping them apart?

Both have apalling taste in other men and the sex they have is far from casual in its intensity and passion, not the type you expect when its just "friends with benefits". Therefore when you get to the end, the impact of them discovering they should be together after all the years spent supporting each other through the angsty bits, loses its intensity and is a bit of an anti-climax.

Saying that you cant help liking Drew and Cae or rooting for them and I did love the running joke of Caleb never getting the names of Drews ' boyfriends' right, that was funny! Plus its Cardeno C so like all his others you can't help forgiving those WTF moments and the sex is hot!

Its fair to say I'm a little biased about CC because, I'm not sure there is a thing this author has written that I haven't adored. This story was vivid, real, funny, sad, bittersweet, and a thousand other different emotions.

My only niggle is that view spoiler [ I wish we were able to see more about Caleb and Drew after they realized what they were 4. My only niggle is that view spoiler [ I wish we were able to see more about Caleb and Drew after they realized what they were too each other hide spoiler ] Even with this though I still felt like the story was complete that an entire picture had been painted for the reader to enjoy.

Another great story in this series! I'm going to try and do more of a review later but since this is a new release I thought I'd post something right away.

I absolutely LOVE all the books in this series. I cannot express how fucking happy I am to see this is coming!! Well duh!! It's a CC book, there's bound to be lotsa sex, but this was a 2 decade long 'best friends with very frequent benefits' package.

I did not really understand, or like. The written plot, gosh not my favorite. The flow, was slow. The smexy scenes, friends with benefits The pace, well I wanted more pages once they finally got together :- And Gosh, this storyline took forEVER for them to get to where they needed to be. This wasn't the story I wanted for Andrew, or for Caleb, based on previous books.

But it was a fabulous story that I never would have imagined, so I am content. A best friends with benefits to lovers story. Caleb and Drew have loved each other for so long, sharing all their firsts and continuing a sexual relationship whenever they saw each other while unattached as they were following their own paths through different towns and different life stages.

The two smart men are a bit dense, but nonetheless it was a beautiful friendship to watch grow over the years. The two have a great connection, sizzling sex and the fun conversations I have come to expect from Cardeno C. This was one of my favorites in the series. I just adore Cardeno C. His books are smooth, sweet and character driven. Even though this book was one big flashback, it absolutely worked. I enjoyed going through life with Andrew and Caleb. I loved that they were there for each even when they were apart.

It was just a good story as all of them have been in the Home series. View all 5 comments. I really liked this book. It has a great progression on Andrew's and Caleb's friendship throughout 20 years. Their friendship starts at 14 and around age 18 become friends with benefits. So yeah there is a lot of sex in this book, but I have to say that it was good. Even for my own jaded have-read-too-much-erotica-nothing-can-move-me-anymore self the sex seemed "hot.

IDK that was a bit of a stretch there since they are living together and the tension is there. I do not mind the somewhat abrupt end of the book as we have 20 years to get to know the guys and how well they get along. I didn't feel I had to keep reading to make sure they still did because there was already plenty evidence of that. I love this cover. But the book describes Andrew as bigger than Caleb and the cover makes Andrew seem petite. View all 7 comments.
