Using a timer is crucial to a successful tabata workout. A Gymboss is the perfect tabata timer. Now you are ready to go. To begin the setup process, push the set button on the top of the timer. SETUP will now be displayed, throughout the entire setup process.
The beginning interval is adjusted first, using the up and down arrow keys. Change the first interval to 20 seconds. Press set to move to next step. Next you will change the second interval to 10 seconds using the up and down arrow keys. Once you set the time, press set to move to the next step. Set this number to 8 using the up and down arrow keys, then press set.
Choose your alarm style. For this example we will use BH Beep High. Choose the alarm type, then press set. Next set the length of time for the alarm. We will use 1 second for this setup. How to Use a Gymboss Interval Timer
There are three modes: clock, stopwatch and interval timer. To change modes, hold both the up and down arrows at the same time. The buttons and general instructions I went over above apply here as well; the miniMax just has some extra features. When entering this into the Gymboss miniMax, we think of it as 4 intervals: 5 mins, 20 secs, 10 sec, 5 mins.
