Jacob Dolinger was born in in Antwerp, Belgium. Rosenn of the Miami University. Published numerous articles in US Universities' law journals, in the American Journal of Comparative Law, The International Lawyer of the American Bar Association, in Mexican and Venezuelan law journals and a very large number of articles, essays and legal opinions in Brazilian law journals.

Dolinger was visiting professor at the Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro in the early s and taught for thirty-two years at the State University of Rio de Janeiro Law School graduate and post graduate departments, delivering courses in Private International Law, International Procedural Law and Comparative Law Member of the Mercosul list of arbitrators nominated by the Brazilian government acted in a number of international arbitrations as attorney, as consultant and as arbitrator.

A member of the Tribunal of Mercosur and of Mercosur-Bolivia list of arbitrators nominated by the Brazilian government. Acted in numerous domestic and international arbitrations as attorney, consultant, expert witness and arbitrator.
