The Lich Lord has returned! And he has released the dead from their wormy graves. Now these undead hordes are stalking the land. The call has gone out for great heroes to stop this evil plague Tomb of the Lich Lord is a player Dungeoneer card game.

Your character explores a wilderness that you build with map cards, while fighting monsters, completing quests, and leveling up along the way. The expansion sets can be played as stand-alone games or mixed in with the original for more dungeon-delving fun! Dungeoneer is a neat little card game from Atlas games that can moderately satisfy an itch for a dungeon crawler. At its core is basic exploration, traps, monsters and events…but with a twist.

In a nutshell, players are both a hero character and a mini DM to all the other players. It becomes exponentially difficult and tedious with each player beyond 3. And as a minor point, the art direction is just…weird. Great card game for any avid game collector to add to their collection. I own the core game and pretty much all expansions.

This is a fun game for 2 or more players. For me it seems like you are playing a ready to go RPG, if you can get into the characters you have to play. Great art work and game design by Thomas Denmark. I would suggest getting card sleeves or something to store the game in besides the box it comes in. The game comes with small paper markers for your character location on the map. You must be logged in to add a review. Remember Me. Lost your password? Username or E-mail:.

Each set consists of 55 or cards of different types:. During each game turn, players alternatively take on the role of the "dungeon lord", who unleashes monsters and traps on his opponents, and of the adventurer who explores the dungeon trying to solve his quests. The game is won either by a dungeon lord who defeats all of his opponents, or by an adventurer who successfully solves three quests. The first set, simply called " Dungeoneer " was originally released by Citizen Games [ when?

The core idea behind Dungeoneer is intriguing: two players explore a dungeon together, with both acting as the hero and the villain. After the initial set-up place the dungeon entrance, randomly draw four adjoining rooms, select a character, assign quests , players will take turns acting as both their own hero and as the villain to the other players. This works by using an interesting system of points both good and bad that players will use to activate cards. Of course on your turn you can turn right around and do nasty stuff to your opponents — assuming they have enough bad juju build up.
