But most of these publications, some of them quite lavish, have been meant as adornments for the coffee-table - the emphasis is on striking photography rather than hard knowledge. Janet Rizvi's page work is therefore welcome, and doubly so because it isn't a gee whiz product of wide-eyed wonder at a strange land and picturesque people.
