She had never really taken chances with love in the past, only stepping cautiously for example she is good friends with a guy before she considers dating. Exactly perfect for Lauren in every way but not! She is like a dog, loyal like crazy! Why go searching when you know she is right in front of you? Please note: this is just me rambling, it was essential that he not accept it! Enters the bimbos, well as Lauren calls them.
They are all ditzy and pretend like they are the girl, while Lauren is cursed to watch. I laugh because they throw themselves at Riley. Are we girls so shallow to do so? I guess some are. I really hope you read this because it was so sweet and Lauren was someone I could really relate to, she was real and down to earth. Just sayin, Kare View 1 comment. Oct 28, Laurence R. Jun 26, Joana The Boundless Booklist rated it liked it.
Mar 16, Natalie rated it it was ok Shelves: read-in , young-adult. Pretty cheesy and unrealistic. I dunno, I guess it was cute. Jun 09, Emma rated it liked it Shelves: ya-fiction. Lauren is a junior in high school and unlike her flirtatious best friend, Britt, definitely does NOT believe in "love at first sight.
However, they only get a few words of exchange between them before they are separated without even know each other's names. Now, Riley is on Facebook and on the lookout for his "Planetarium Girl" and Lauren couldn't be more excited I would probably category this as a "Beach Read" and can actually picture it as a high school drama production! I didn't like the book from the beginning.
I definitely didn't like the boy crazy friend and how this book was pretty much about getting the guy. I just thought that it would be interesting having the guy go through the various Planetarium Girl impostors, which was the only reason why I continued to read the book. I just wanted to find out when he would finally be told the truth.
I thought the book was pretty boring, except for the part with the fakes. They were so annoying and it was a little i I didn't like the book from the beginning. They were so annoying and it was a little intriguing wanting him to soon find out that they were lying to him. Mar 07, Mary rated it really liked it Shelves: young-adult-romance , own-import-books. It's pretty quick reading, only needs couple hours to finish all. You'll find sweet little romantic life of high school teens here.
No complicated issues, likeable characters, light and easy beautiful writing, all blend into an entertaining reading. Jan 15, Nikki Gutierrez rated it liked it. But, this book is cute. The idea of love at first sight and going after the guy despite all odds. If I were though, I would have given up halfway through already because Riley was friend-zoning her so hard. What I like about the story, too, is that Riley was willing to give up looking for the girl because of how much he really liked Lauren.
All in all, it was a cute and short read, best read by preteens. It seemed funny that all girls were pretending to be this mystery girl, it had the Cinderella Story vibe going on. But I did like that they got to know more about each other as friends. In a way, the relationship developed more naturally before they got together as a couple.
This was really cute. Lauren and Riley meet each other in a dark planetarium on a multi-school class trip and exchange some banter They get separated and don't see each other again. A couple days later, her best friend finds a post on Facebook of him looking for The One that he met and so many details that he COULD have saved to verify that any girls that responded were actually his PG planetarium girl I wanted to punch the kid in the face a couple times.
I mean, seriously. And the "reveal" at the end? Like, why would he believe THAT and not her? But overall, it was cute. Aug 18, Theresa rated it it was ok. I'm really disappointed, seriously, I was expecting an out of the world mind boggling read but no, I got nothing.
Don't get me wrong, the plot was good and then it ends there, it didn't give me the thrills at all. Young love Very cute story that gives you the giggles even thought at times it seems draggy and long But it is worth reading to the end :.
Aug 04, Karen Keyte rated it liked it Shelves: teen-romantic-comedies. I prefer to test the waters first. All of which only makes what happened at the planetarium even stranger.
I should point out, however, that while At First Sight is light, calling it a comedy is stretching things a bit. Jan 22, Jenny Zheng rated it it was amazing. Wait, does love at first sight even exist? Lauren, a junior in high school, doesn't believe about the theory of love at first sight. That all change after the meet with Riley in a school field trip to the planetarium.
Just like that, in about fifteen seconds, love chemistry was discovered. Fifteen seconds, a first moment equals love f 3: At First Sight Is it possible to experience love at first sight?
At First Sight
By Catherine Hapka. Right, Lauren? She waved one hand in my direction without breaking eye contact with Greenleaf Guy. By the way, this is my best friend, Lauren Foley. Or maybe that should be affliction.
Catherine Hapka has written more than books for children and adults. She lives in Pennsylvania. Regan Flay is on the cusp of achieving her control-freak mother's "plan" for high school success? Every bitchy text.
